We are happy to finally announce the first stage of our transition into the cloud.
This stage brings user accounts and a new method for purchasing subscriptions. Your current licence will continue to work until it expires so no action is necessary until you are ready to renew.
A quick note at the start, the desktop program itself still works exactly the same way. This is just changing the way you add your licence to it.
We have known for years that online functionality is a very important step that we need to take. In particular to address:
-the ability to use the program instantly once purchased
-problems caused by losing your licence file
-the need to manually copy vote files between computers
-support for macOS
This first stage answers the first two issues and builds the platform for the next two.
Moving the votes into the cloud is our next goal. This will mean you will be able to view and edit the votes on multiple computers and also potentially through a website or mobile app. We are still working on how this will look in the first implementation though.
We have a couple of options on how to do this depending on how big we can go. The goal is to have a version ready to release early/mid 2025.
This will be a journey and we won’t get there overnight but we are very excited to have begun this process and have big plans for what we can create for you. Any ideas or feedback is greatly appreciated.
Remember these are brand new accounts and it is separate from our previous licences so if you haven’t created an account on here before then you will need to create one to log in.
The video tutorial at the top of this article shows the new functionality and how to get setup in the new management portal.
Part of this change has been moving our website from sportsvotecount.com.au to sportsvotecount.com. Be assured both are still us and we are just as Australian as ever.
We are looking forward to hearing any feedback about our new management website and features so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Cloud will be great dor times when computer dies etc
